My Id Strikes Again

Last night my subconscious took over entering for the Pillsbury Bake-Off contest that I wrote about before, since I hadn't done anything about it - and since not even a single person wrote a comment to help inspire me (sniff, sniff). I spent the majority of last night in my sleep baking, three different times, the Peanut Butter Custard/Fudge pie inspired by Reeses Pieces that Avram and I made up a couple of months ago (I actually blogged about it, and now for the life of me I can't find that post.)

I spent more time cooking in my sleep than it would have to just have woken up and made the actual Pie! Plus, my Id made sure I used two ingredients from the approved lists, and I even, in my sleep, made some alterations that made it more people friendly. Now all I need to do is go out and buy the actual ingredients, and I can test my dream approved Peanut Butter Fudge Pie. Doesn't that sound yummy, though? When I win the Million dollar prize, I'll say it was all due to trying to live up to my blog audience - you were my inspiration. That and my over active sub conscious.(Elisheva doesn't have anything to do with the Peanut Butter Fudge Pie, but she's too cute to not post. This is her beatnik black turtleneck, that makes me say bad beatnik poetry, like 'She was a thief, hard to belief, she stole my heart...and my cat.')
Lydia was feeling left out, too. This is her 1950's frock that her Great Grandma Mim sent her.

  1. Hey Jane, get me off this crazy thing...

    Called, Love.

Peanut butter and pie, while you don't usually hear them used in the same sentence, sound delish. Especially if there is some whipped chocolatey fluffy stuff in there somewhere too.

  2. Wow! Is it that you are becoming a better photographer or Lydia has gotten over her pasted on smile stage? So cute. I love all the pictures. I'm truly a beneficiary of the stolen computer. My computer finally died yesterday after having been resurrected from several previous deaths. Now the question of the hour is whether Soren will be able to get my pictures off of it. Best of luck with peanut butter pie. I wish you could send me a sample by email. When we figure out how to do that, you can email your kids and I'll babysit them so you can go out. Love ya, Mom

  3. Hey Thora. I found your blog on the Cannon's, so hopefully you remember us...the Farrells from Wymount.

Just thought I'd say hi. And I totally think you should enter your recipe...it sounds amazing! And then post the recipe so we can all try it too!

  4. I have dreamed that I was cleaning house all night long and woken up exhausted to a dirty house. Ugh, I hate that sort of dream. I'm glad your hardworking dream was at least a tasty one.

  5. I haven't read your blog for all that long, or with perfect consistency, or I would have been glad to comment/encourage. I have procrastinated and have to get my entry to Pillsbury ready on Sunday, then follow that up with my entries for the Ultimate Recipe Showdown 3 which have to be done by the end of the month...I entered the URS 2 last year, and another contest earlier this year. I'm still waiting for the results of a Taste of Home contest. You go, girl!
