Update to Previous Post

Read Previous Post Before This One

Update
: Aleatha told me that usual chigger bite amounts run in two or threes. So I realize you may all think I'm just whiny. But actually, my conservative estimate is from 150-200 chigger bites. And others have amounts around there. (I counted up to fifty five, but had only done half my stomach and a quarter of one thigh). (Isn't thigh a shocking sounding word? I should just say drumstick instead. A quarter of one drumstick). So have some sympathy, and send us all out of body experiences, because we currently aren't on speaking terms with ours.

P.S. Chigger bites can take three weeks to heal. Pray for us. I'm not kidding. Avram gave me a blessing this morning at four thirty a.m., which is the only way I got back to sleep. Pray of all sorts are good.

  2. I do hope you get better. Just to let you know Moab is going to be getting a Campus of USU in a few years Avram could totally come and teach here. We are guaranteed to be chigger free.

  3. I can't read the last post either, but as soon as I saw the title I knew chiggers had gotten you. EVIL BEASTIES! What did you do? Roll in the grass? (I'm a buckeye by birth.) Did I forget to warn you never, ever walk in grass, even lawns, without insect repellent on in Ohio? Those buggers are everywhere!

When I was a kid, we'd put clear fingernail polish on the bites. I have no idea if there's any point in it. If nothing else, it gave me something to think about while I was writhing in misery. Ice helped too. I'm so sorry.

  4. No need to ask for sympathy from me! Your poor girl!

Tea Tree oil is the best anti-itch I've ever found but wow...it sounds like you would need a lot of it!

Hope they heal up waaaay faster than is normal!

  5. Oh, heavens to betsy, you poor thing. I've never had to deal with chiggers--I guess MN is too cold for them--but I've had heaps of mosquito bites and I know how they shrink your whole world into nothing but the AAAAAAAAAHHHH maddening itching. And I well remember the whiteout panic of realizing you're surrounded by billions of bugs for miles and miles and miles. Hang on, Thora. Remember that you like having two legs.
